90% of pediatric specialists ignore AAP’s ADHD guidelines
More than 90 percent of pediatric specialists don’t follow AAP treatment guidelines to treat ADHD in preschoolers. The American Academy of Pediatrics says that primary care physicians and pediatric specialists should recommend behavior therapy first, and that medication should only be tried if behavior therapy doesn’t work.
