Dyslexia or Specific Reading Comprehension Deficits?
It may not be dyslexia; it may be S-RCD. Unlike dyslexia, in which the reader confuses letters and struggles with sounding out words, with S-RCD (Specific Reading Comprehension Deficits), the child reads successfully but doesn’t comprehend the meaning of the words. The example given is someone who can read Spanish, but can’t tell you what the words mean.
