Spatial attention and object-based attention use similar mechanisms
New research says that spatial attention and object-based attention are surprisingly similar and actually use similar mechanisms and related brain regions. Both are governed by the prefrontal cortex, and in object-based attention, the inferior frontal junction (which is in the prefrontal cortex) is involved.
