New study finds nicotine may prevent brain from aging
Research at the Texas A&M College of Medicine has found that nicotine binds to and activates nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the brain, which reduces neurodegeneration. The study was done on mice, but may apply to humans as well.
