Definitive cause of some autism discovered
A global collaboration of 13 institutions has shown one definitive cause of autism to be a genetic mutation. The researchers found that people with a mutation in the CHD8 gene have “a very strong likelihood” that they will have autism marked by wide-set eyes, gastrointestinal disorders and a larger head.
