How visuals increase attention
Authors from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio published a paper in the journal Science Advances in which they report that norepinephrine is locally regulated in the visual cortex. As they explain, a certain amount of this chemical needs to be released for optimum brain performance and the ability to pay attention. Too much or too little may affect how the person processes information.
