Omega-3s enhance cognitive flexibility in at-risk older adults
For older adults at risk of late-onset Alzheimer’s, those who consumed more omega-3 fatty acids performed better than their peers on cognitive flexibility tests. They also had a bigger anterior cingulated cortex, part of the brain that’s linked to cognitive flexibility (e.g., the ability to efficiently switch between tasks).
