PCC more active when brain needs help
The region of the brain attacked by Alzheimer’s links learning and rewards. A Duke grad student has discovered that the PCC (posterior cingulated cortex) is more active when the brain needs extra help. Quiet during the brain’s peak performance, the PCC is one of the first regions of the brains to be affected by Alzheimer’s.
