Researchers activate problem-solving during sleep
In a fascinating new piece of research, scientists were able to get study participants solve puzzles in their sleep. The researchers had participants solve part a puzzle while listening to a unique sound. While the volunteers slept, the scientists played the sounds for half of the person’s unsolved puzzles at a level only loud enough to be heard without interrupting sleep. In the morning, the volunteers were able to solve the puzzles 55% better.
