Researchers have discovered that by stopping the body’s immune system from killing brain cells, they can reduce the brain damage caused by head injuries. Although the study was done on mice, the scientists’ findings could have major implications for those who have suffered a major traumatic brain injury if the same procedures can be applied to humans.
