The link between reading ability and brain structure
A new study looked at the link between reading ability and brain structure. Using MRIs, the researchers found that phonological decoding was associated with gray matter volume in the left superior parietal lobe; form-sound was associated with the hippocampus and cerebellum; and naming speed lit up several areas of the brain.
