Women have more decline in aging and Alzheimer’s
Women have a higher rate of cognitive decline and regional brain loss from aging and early Alzheimer’s than men. But men and women didn’t differ in the level of biomarkers of Alzheimer’s pathology, which may indicate that for women, brain volume loss may also be caused by factors other than Alzheimer’s (or that the pathologies are more toxic.)
